I heard that there is a 'Final Cut' version of the film which is slated for release in theaters sometime this year. Anyone have info confirming this?

Wow! I hadn't checked in n this for a while, but tonight drove by The Grand Lake Theater here in Oakland & they had The "Final Cut" up on the marquee. I think the date was 11/30! I'm so peeved about being too poor to buy the DVD set!

This is how a retro-fitted movie should be done. Fix continuity issues only. Make sure Zhora doesn't look like a 6 ft. stuntie cross dresser in a bad wig when she busts through the plate glass (this sequence looks incredible now). These issues were taken care of by Ridley with a light and subtle hand. I wish Lucas had done likewise with his movies, who will ever forget the sudden eye wrenching CGI ride through the Warner Brothers LooneyTunes version of Mos Eisley spaceport?
I can't believe it's been 25 years. Only one thing I didn't like, Roy Batty calls Tyrell Father instead of Fucker. Fucker added more menace and weight to the scene. But that's a piddling preference on my part. Overall, well done.
